On a glorious sunny Saturday, Twyford Avenue, Acton(Home of Wasps FC) hosted London's newest seven-a-side tournament the 'RFU London City 7s". The event, aimed at social grade rugby players, brought together 8 teams from as far away as Oxford and Folkestone, as well as local ondon sides, in what was to be an entertaining day of 7s.

The day was split into two pools each with six games in the morning, with the top two teams continuing to the Cup competition and the bottom two to the Plate.
In the Plate competition the semi finals saw Fat Chuffas continue to the finals at the expense of Foster & Partners , and Mayfair Occasionals advance pass Pink Lotus.
In the Cup competition, Olafs Axes beat the Super Twos to claim there spot in the final. The other semi final in the Cup competition was between The Castaways and Guys hospital, with a score line of 33-12 in favour to The Castaways.

The Plate final was held between, Mayfair Occasionals and the Fat Chuffas. The Fat Chuffas took the lead and were leading 10-0 at half time. Unfortunately for Mayfair Occasionals, as the Fat Chuffas where able to extend there lead to the final whistle winning 22-14.

The Cup Final, with both The Castaways and Olaf Axes, both having not lost a game all day. The match was of a high standard although The Castaways proved too strong for Olaf Axes and completed the day with a 24 -7 win.

The day was a great success with the aim to grow the event in future years; also special thanks should be made to St George’s University for supplying the medical staff and the London Referee Society for the Referees, who played all the games in Great Spirit.
