RFU Promotes non-Society Referee Development

The 40 Referees Societies around the country provide an excellent service to their member clubs, appointing referees to a wide range of matches each week.  There remain, however, fixtures to which Societies cannot appoint on a regular basis e.g. Intra mural University matches, lower level senior games and junior matches on Sunday mornings.  The non-Society referees officiating at such matches are currently …

Success Stories

Following the success of similar organisations across the country, some students at Newcastle University decided that it was time for the University to have it"s own Referee Society. With 11teams in the intra-mural league and a lack of trained impartial referees for most of the University games, the demand for a Referees’ Society was high....
